35 - Johansson Larsen's disease

*A type of osteochondrosis occurring most commonly in adolescence.

*Radiographs may show bone fragmentation of the inferior portion of the patella.

*The cause appears to be a traction phenomenon attributable to contusion or tendinitis of the proximal attachment of the patella tendon with subsequent calcification and ossification.

*It is also called Sinding-Larsen-Johannsen disease.
